Again imitates the experience of insomnia. The nagging ostinati, repeated harmonic progression, and frustrated arrival at the words “Not Again” demonstrate the cyclical affliction of lying still, unable to calm the mind.

Again is a wordless (well, almost wordless...) depiction of insomnia and the problems therein - it is a colorful realisation of the power that voices hold even without narrative devices or text itself.

Again was premiered by students of Westminster Choir College at Sam's undergraduate composition recital in January of 2021. 

Again later had its UK premier by the University of Aberdeen Chamber Choir in their concert "Dreams and Visions", March 2022.
